  Fun Punctuation Activity:

To teach the use of quotation marks and commas with my students I use elbow macaroni and some school glue.  I write out sentences omitting the punctuation then have the children glue on the macaroni.  I try to take sentences from stories we have recently read.  The kids love this.  I have also used Cheerios to teach about using periods.  Note:  Use this activity near the beginning of a session so the glue dries before it's time to go home (if your students come to your house).

Thanks to Diane M. of  NJ for this great idea!!
